DESCRIPTION |
|
Cooper Black 775™ is a high solids polyamide-cured coal tar
epoxy, furnished in two separate pre-measured containers. |
|
|
|
RECOMMENDED USE |
|
To protect metal and masonry surfaces subject to fresh or
salt water in immersion from corrosion and chemical attack.
Excellent as a barrier coating for underground pipes, tanks
and conduits. Cooper Black 775™ has applications in every
industry from chemical plants, storage tanks, steel
fabrication and pipelines, to water and sewage treatment
plants. |

SURFACE PREPARATION |

Concrete
Contaminated or previously coated surfaces must be
sandblasted to remove all foreign matter. New surfaces must
be etched with a Muriatic acid solution, neutralized,
flushed with clear water and allowed to dry. Thin first coat
50% with Pro Guard Epoxy™ Thinner. |

APPLICATION METHODS
Stiff brush, rug-type roller, conventional air spray, or
airless spray. Avoid the use of nylon or plastic equipment. |

|
MIXING RATIO
The ratio of mix is 4 parts of component A to 1 part
component B. Stir each component separately, then slowly mix
contents of B into A. Mix thoroughly, preferably
mechanically, for 5 minutes. Allow to “digest” for 10
minutes, then apply. |

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All surfaces must be clean and dry. Do not allow sandblasted
steel to remain uncoated for more than 4 to 6 hours. Do not
apply when air, product or surface temperatures is below 50
deg. F. Curing is retarded at 60 deg. F. |

PRECAUTIONS
The solvent in Cooper Black 775™ is flammable, volatile and may
irritate the skin of some individuals. Wear gloves and
safety glasses when mixing. Prevent liquid from contacting
the skin. Use forced air ventilation during application and
drying in confined areas. Use fresh air masks at all times
when spraying. Close containers after each use. KEEP OUT OF
